Frequently Asked Questions
How do home care agencies use Wisdom between visits?
Wisdom provides insight into the hours when caregivers are not in the home. Depending on the package selected, intelligent sensors can identify falls, observe movement and daily routines, and flag changes that may warrant attention. This gives the care team greater visibility into what happens between visits, beyond what a client may recall or report at the next one. Wisdom is designed to extend the care plan without adding to the caregiver’s workload and to help surface when a client’s needs may be changing.
Does this replace caregivers?
No, Wisdom is designed to extend the care ecosystem rather than compete with it. Technology can notice that something changed at two in the morning. It cannot make breakfast, notice that someone seems low, or build the relationship that makes a client accept help at all. Wisdom is meant to make a care team more responsive, not smaller.
What does our team see, and how does it help care for clients?
Care team members may be included in the Trusted Circle with permissions set for their role. Alerts reach the team in the MyWisdom app with context about what happened and where. Reporting and organizational dashboards are on the near-term roadmap, and a Wisdom representative can walk through what is available for your agency today.
What does a partner need to get started?
It starts with a conversation. We will learn about the clients you serve, look at how Wisdom fits your model, and review pricing, service availability, installation, and how your team is trained and supported. From there we agree on how to introduce Wisdom to your organization and your clients.
Why do home care agencies offer Wisdom to their clients?
Agencies offer Wisdom because it extends what they can see and act on beyond scheduled hours. It gives the care team context between visits, surfaces changes in a client's condition earlier, and gives the agency something concrete to bring to the family conversation about whether home is still working. For an agency competing on quality of care rather than hourly rate, it is a visible difference in what the service includes.
What happens if a client falls between caregiver visits?
If Wisdom detects a fall, the Trusted Circle is alerted immediately with the room and the time. If no one responds, the alert escalates to 24/7 emergency response, which can contact emergency services. The care team sees the event and its context rather than learning about it at the next visit. Wisdom does not replace an agency's own emergency protocols, and fall detection is available with Wisdom Essentials Plus and Wisdom Enhanced.
How do aging-in-place organizations work with Wisdom?
Aging-in-place organizations, care management programs, and community service networks work with Wisdom to give the older adults they serve a practical option between doing nothing and moving. Wisdom can be recommended, referred, or deployed as part of a broader service. Because the older adult sets the privacy terms and defines the Trusted Circle, the technology fits organizations whose mission is client autonomy rather than oversight.
How do 55+ communities and housing operators use Wisdom?
An operator may provide the in-unit equipment, and each resident holds their own Wisdom subscription and defines their own Trusted Circle. Wisdom can be installed unit by unit as residents opt in, or planned into a community at build or renovation.
Who controls resident information in a community deployment?
The resident does. In a housing deployment, the resident defines their Trusted Circle and decides what staff and family can each see. Operators may receive the alerts a resident has authorized rather than a general view of the community.
