Wisdom Collaborates with Samsung to Capture Fall Prevention Insights from Gait Data

NEW YORK NY, October 20, 2025

Wisdom, an innovative AgeTech company helping older adults live safely and independently, today announced a collaboration with Samsung Health to create a novel approach to fall safety and prevention. The partnership combines Wisdom’s AI-powered smart home system with the Samsung Galaxy Watch[1]and will debut at HLTH USA 2025 in Las Vegas at the Samsung booth. 

The initiative builds on Wisdom’s privacy-preserving smart home system and extends its reach beyond the home. Mobility data collected from the Samsung Galaxy Watch is shared with the Wisdom platform, where Wisdom performs gait-speed analysis — a clinically validated measure associated with fall risk and functional decline. This integration provides caregivers and families with proactive insights that support early intervention and independent living.

Gait Speed as a Vital Sign 

 “Gait speed is a well-established biomarker of functional performance and overall health, supported by decades of research in gerontology and physical therapy,” said Tiffany Shubert, Ph.D., PT, fall prevention expert and Senior Clinical Advisor to Wisdom.  “Embedding this quantitative metric into accessible technology gives families and care teams insights that can help reduce fall risk while encouraging overall wellness.”

According to the CDC, each year more than 3 million adults age 65 and older are treated in emergency departments for fall-related injuries, resulting in more than 1 million hospitalizations. Falls are one of the leading reasons older adults lose their independence and face challenges remaining safely in their own homes.
